Overcoming Anxiety, The Natural Way

These are the other chronic diseases that can manifest from Anxiety.
Anxiety is a very common mental health ailment that happens to many of us on a daily basis. It could be the feeling of anxiousness to do something or the feeling of not knowing what will happen therefore causing us to become uneasy, stressed, and predisposed to depression.

From a holistic stand point, Anxiety is a physical manifestation from unnecessary worry, lack of faith, and stress. It can also be a trigger from past-traumatic events in one's life.

In its many ways, it can lead to increased heart rate, which if not controlled can damage the heart valves and potentially turn into heart disease. It can also bring on rapid breathing, sweating, trembling and weakness as well as feelings of apprehension and powerlessness.

I suffered from Anxiety most of my life and found it to be deep rooted to my past and how I was treated by my father. He was a good father in many ways but had outbursts of rage and instilled fear in my siblings, mother, and myself. The feeling of not knowing how we was going to react to a situation was stressing, and the shouting would put me in the "fight or flight" mode which brings on the signs of Anxiety.

The Anxiety carried on into my young adult life and caused me to act out and medicate. I would act in certain ways like my father when I was confronted with an anxious situation. Even for job interviews or asserting myself in my professional atmosphere it would bring on this unbearable fear and nervousness. It was boarder line disorder.

Im here to let you know there are ways to overcome this beast that may be hindering you from living the life you want. I am still on my healing journey but know now how to recognize what is happening and making conscious efforts to manage it and decrease the response of its onset.

Remember the holistic philosophy when you are on your healing journey...mind, body, soul.

-Mind-
We need to heal first in the mind and senses with positive affirmations, life enriching words, aromatherapy, and meditation.

Here are some affirmations you can meditate on and essential oils you can use to start decreasing Anxiety:

  • All is well in my world and I am safe.
  • With every breath, I release the anxiety within me and I become more and more calm.

  • The future is good. I look towards it with hope and happiness.

  • Life is wonderful. I trust in God/Universe to live a well fulfilled life.

  • I overcome my fear of anything and everything and live life courageously.
Essential Oils Recommendations:

Lavender, Lemon, Orange, and Bergamot.

"The “smell” receptors in your nose communicate with parts of your brain (the amygdala and hippocampus) that serve as storehouses for emotions and memories. When you breathe in essential oil molecules, some researchers believe they stimulate these parts of your brain and influence physical, emotional, and mental health. For example, scientists believe lavender stimulates the activity of brain cells in the amygdala similar to the way some sedative medications work. Other researchers think that molecules from essential oils may interact in the blood with hormones or enzymes."
-Body-
Next comes supplementing the body of the lack of vitamins and minerals you have depleted. I always recommend a cleanse to get your body to absorb every nutrient and release the chemical toxicity in your lymph and blood that actually activates nervousness. (stay tuned for the healthy and easy cleanse)

  • Acupuncture/Massage: Recommend a lymphatic drainage and deep tissue. Acupressure can help to balance out your energy meridians.
  • Yoga, Exercise where you sweat a lot, Tai Chi.
  • Supplements: B-complex, Magnesium, Zinc, Co-Q10, L-Theanine and Tryptophan.

  • Herbs/Spices:Magnolia Oficcinalis, Passion flower, valerian root, Kava, Ashwaghanda, St. Johns Wort, and Holy Basil.

  • Teas: Valerian Root, Holy Basil, Chamomile.

-Soul/Spirit-

When accessing your spirit/soul it's important to connect through your energy centers also known as 'Chakras'. Every energy center is activated by vibrations and colors. I recommend receiving some healing reiki and chakra balancing session. Even performing kundalini yoga can help open these.

I recommend holding and meditating with a rose quartz crystal, amethyst, fluorite, aquamarine, and Lapis Lazuli. You can find these and others at this great stone/crystal shop online: Natures For You
